The 7±2 Rule
Student Handbook
The 7±2 rule is a concept derived by cognitive psychologist George. A. Miller who determined that as humans we have a capacity for processing information and the ideal number of choices we can retain in our short-term memory is 7 + or - 2.
With the advent of technology, we are required to process exponential amounts of information which results in a lack of motivation and productivity. Targeting creative students, the 7±2 rulebook aims to lessen choice overload with dedicated sections that guide the creative process, but do not limit the outcome. Hence leading to greater productivity and further refined visuals.
